The Public Interest Group (GIP) France Vétérinaire International aims at federating, promoting and coordinating the French veterinary expertise at international level.
Members
14 active members (contributors), 2 associates (non contributors); 13 members from the public sector, 3 members from the private side
Contributions
Member’s annual contributions are of approximately 50 000 euros per year, and are used for covering the administrative expenditures from the management unit.

Governing body
A general assembly composed by the 16 representatives of members, a board of directors composed by six representatives of the members elected by the general assembly
President
Jacques GODFRAIN, former Minister for the Cooperation, Chairman for the board of the National Veterinarian School in Toulouse, deputy for Aveyron, mayor for Millau. Officially elected by the Board of directors among its members, for a 3 year period. He presides over the General Assembly.

He has been elected by the Board of directors under the Minister of Agriculture’s initiative, for a three year period (until 2009). Under the authority of the Board of directors and the President, he ensures the association’s normal functioning, the implementation of the budget and the general coordination of the activities.

Management Unit
Located at CGAAER, composed by the 3 permanent members (GIP’s director, deputy director and operation manager); it proposes and implements the action plan from the GIP, with occasional supports on an ad hoc basis.
Network of correspondents (RESCO)
Formed by the 16 correspondents officially assigned by each member of the GIP, they officiate on one hand as “relays” for the information to flow within the association, and on the other hand as “network heads” for the experts and people resources' identification. Correspondents insure as well the implementation of FVI's actions by the partner structures concerned. RESCO meets every two months.
